Many lawyers will take cases on contingency and try to prove you dismissed the individual without cause. Unquestionably, getting the ex-employee's signature on the package will stop any expensive suit regarding his employment. Please don't use use 'downsizing' as an excuse for dismissing bad employees, or creating a culture change in the organization by replacing old workers with new ones. Therefore, Hr professionals must be knowledgeable on both the company's policies and the best procedures for firing workers.
